KIMONO REBORN is a cultural and sustainable awareness project that upcycles beautiful and neglected vintage kimono for use by turning them into modern fashion items.

Design notes: In Japan, the family crest or ‘Kamon’ (家紋) is used to indicate one’s origins; lineage, or social status from the old times. It is something considered a very unique tradition – basically, logo design wisdom from Ancient Japan. This jacket is covered with these small crests that give a quite traditional Japanese style but somehow very unique and modern. The piece is a collection of family crests that you can explore each meaning!
